Dr. Edward DeFabio is a “Jersey Boy.” He grew up in Short Hills and attended Newark Academy. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Middlebury College in 1973 and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1977. Before opening his private practice, Dr. Edward DeFabio worked as an associate in Union. In 1980, he opened the doors to his office in Colts Neck and has maintained this practice location ever since.
Dr. Edward DeFabio’s professional interests are aesthetics, adhesion dentistry, microscopic dentistry, advanced restorative dentistry, removable prosthodontics and endodontics.
Dr. Edward DeFabio is an active member of the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association and the Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society. He has also completed extensive continuing education at the Pankey Institute.
Dr. Edward DeFabio was very active with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, serving on the Board of Directors from 1986-1994. He was a Founding Member and President of the New York Chapter of the AACD from 1988-1990. In 1987, Dr. Edward DeFabio became the first accredited member from New Jersey of the AACD. He also served as National Program Chair for the organization in 1994.
When he is not practicing dentistry, Dr. Edward DeFabio enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, sculling on the Navesink River and being Fencing Director for the Sisters’ Academy in Asbury Park. Dr. Edward DeFabio has been a member of the Colts Neck Lions Club since 1979. He is also an usher for St. Mary’s Church in Colts Neck and a Third Degree Knight of Columbus.
